The Bromley 14-19 Collaborative’ is working strategically with schools, colleges, work-based training providers, Connexions, Education Business Partnership, Employers, Integrated Youth Support Service, and HEI to develop a choice of all 17 Diplomas by 2013.
Our strategy is to introduce the Diplomas at a pace which will enable high-quality collaborative provision which meets the needs of our young people, local economy and providers. Strategies for progress towards the Diploma Entitlement are built into the Children and Young People’s Plan and all its sub-plans (eg the Intgrated Youth Support Plan and Capital Plan) where the 14-19 Strategy plays a significant role in raising achievement, improving choice and encouraging the full participation of all young people.
Three Diplomas in ICT, Engineering and Creative and Media were successfully introduced in September 2008 with approval to begin three more in September 2010. Applications for a further 2 Diplomas from 2011 are now in preparation. Cross-border commissioning with our partner Lewisham will ensure choice to all 17 Diplomas by 2013.
